Inspiration
for Divers
In 1997, after many years of intensive R&D, Ambient
pressure diving launched the world’s first
production closed circuit rebreather – the award-winning
and best-selling INSPIRATION CCR.
With 3 litre cylinders & a 3 hour scrubber, easy maintenance and simple
preparation - the Inspiration brought the benefits of
optimal gas consumption and gas mix at all depths to the
forefront of diving.
Quickly becoming the choice of expedition divers,
film makers and sports divers alike, ranging from beach
diving to RIB diving. right up to 100m expedition dives.
By combining the reliable, performance benchmark,
oxygen control of the Inspiration Classic with the
latest manufacturing methods used in high volume dive
computers and extending their features, the Vision
electronics bring even easier diving, simple yet
innovative and advanced warning systems and simple
upgradeability to allow not just safe software updates
but also Hardware developments as they occur - future
proofing your investment.
Classic
Electronics
The Original Inspiration rebreather, now
named the Inspiration Classic, set the benchmark
for rebreathers.
Available as an entry-level unit, the
Inspiration Classic encapsulates the original
innovations that made the Inspiration the
most-widely used CCR in the diving world - From
Dual Master & Slave Controllers to the
un-surpassed over-the-shoulder Counterlungs.

Vision Handset

Vision Electronics
The Vision electronics package gives essential
decompression information, based on the real-time PO2
in the breathing circuit and real-time depth, using the
Bühlmann ZHL16A-1b algorithm with gradient factor
conservatism.
Whether you want a simple dive timer, Nitrox or an
advanced Trimix computer the Vision is the answer both now
and in the future.
By purchasing personalised activation-key release codes
from APD and uploading to the unit, the decompression option
is easily changed to suit every diver. The APD Communicator
enables easy upgrades in the future should new decompression
algorithms or techniques be developed, without returning the
product to the factory.
With 6 user-defined and memorised gas mixes, for use as
either closed circuit diluents or open circuit gases, the
decompression calculations are continuous through every CCR
and open circuit bail out scenario. Program your standard
gasses for the season or change them for every dive - even
underwater if you need to.
Unlike other dive computers there are no out-of-the-blue
shutdowns- the Vision, as a by-product of it's primary life
support role, has intelligent dual power supplies and other
safe-guards built in to prevent this. Also, there are no
“lock-outs” should you violate a decompression ceiling. If
you don’t descend within a reasonable period the display
simply continues showing “EST”imated deco until the computer
has desaturated.

Temp Stick
Rebreathers have been around since the early 1900s
however, a good simple, reliable, scrubber duration warning
system has proved elusive - until now.
The display shows you not only what is happening in the
scrubber, reflecting the diving conditions, but also warns
you before CO2 becomes an issue.
Unlike a CO2 sensor which warns
you when CO2 is coming through
(which is too late when you are deep) the Vision’s Scrubber
Monitor warns you in advance of CO2.
Depth, work rate and water temperature are the three
major factors affecting a scrubber’s duration and the APD
Scrubber Monitor considers all three factors simultaneously
- even working for partially used Sofnolime

Vision Log Viewer

Vision Log Viewer
The APD LogViewer program and an
Interface Bridge is supplied with each rebreather
together with Serial and USB connector options. A running
total of “switched on” time and “dive time” is continuously
appended. PC downloadable information includes recorded data
(up to 9 hours worth).
The LogViewer’s front screen shows the depth/time dive
profile, real-time PO2 display,
PO2 switches, scrubber probe
temperatures, any cell errors or warnings and surface
interval, decompression, ambient temperature, battery
voltages, and gas toxicity (CNS, OTUs). You can even ‘Copy
and Paste’ the data into a Spreadsheet to create your own
personal graphs. It shows the PO2
from all 3 cells and depth, recorded every 10 seconds,
throughout the dive.
